This is a blog for all the wonderful dark, gloomy, slightly macabre cross stitch designs that are out there. Although most of the designs would make great Hallowe'en pieces, this is not a blog for those patterns that are only about Hallowe'en. Please let us know if you have a design you would like to see on this blog. Please share your finishes with us also.

Gloomy Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to all my Tombies and Gloomies friends. This design from Prairie Moon is appropriately called Merry Christmas. I really like that the dog has a Santa hat too.

Miss Mary Mack
This is my rendition of Miss Mary Mack from La D Da Designs. I changed it so you can see the silver buttons down her back and I made her a blond. I used HDF silks for this design. I loved stitching this, it was so much fun. I used a piece of linen that I had on hand, that's why it's a little small.

Spooky House
This is a great pattern for this time of year. It makes me think of leaves blowing in the wind. It's called Spooky House and it's from Xs and Ohs. I love the tree and the bats.

This is Beasties by Courtney Collection. I think it qualifies as a gloomy. What do you think about this design?

Great older pattern
This is a wonderful smaller pattern from Carriage House Samplings called Tiny Tombstones. It's one of the first tombie designs that I ever saw and one of the ones that got me hooked on tombies.

I'm in love with this new design from La-D-Da called The Raven. I'm going to have to stitch it very soon.
